Start with the legal substance
Identify what is being concluded: a bank deposit, investment agreement, insurance contract or another product. The place where it is sold does not determine its legal nature. “Capital protection” is not automatically an insurance mechanism.
Find the counterparty, contract type, term, repayment rules and allocation of responsibility. Check the organization’s authorization through the official Bank of Russia service and compare identifiers, not just similar names. Authorization does not guarantee future income or every advertising promise.
Check insurance scope, limits and payment procedures separately under the applicable rules; this guide does not state an insurance amount.
Map risks to the task
Access risk is the possibility of not receiving funds when needed. It includes contractual restrictions, lost access, transfer delays and extra-document requirements. For near-term reserves, access time can matter more than a small income difference.
Purchasing-power risk means the returned amount buys less. The absence of a nominal loss does not guarantee preservation of real value. Currency risk appears when the storage currency differs from the currency of future expenses. A 100,000-rouble equivalent falling 10% in rouble terms becomes 90,000 before exchange costs; this is arithmetic, not a currency forecast.
Concentration is not only financial
Several accounts can still depend on one application, device or communication channel. Map document storage, access recovery and an independent contact channel. Never put account numbers, passwords or verification codes in that map.
If all funds are locked until one date, many contracts do not create time flexibility. Quick access also says nothing about income after an early recalculation. Separately record access, term and return risks. Beware urgent messages about moving money to a “safe account”; verify through an official channel.
Use a testable conclusion
For each threat record the event, consequence, available checks and remaining uncertainty. A stress scenario is for finding a weak point, not for presenting a likely future. You may change access arrangements, clarify the contract or separate a reserve from a long-term goal. None of these measures promises zero risk.
